Instant dry yeast
Yeast is an egg-shaped, single-celled fungus, only visible under a microscope. When used in baking yeast-leavened bread, yeast ferments the sugars present in flour, releasing carbon dioxide. The dough's elastic and stretchable nature traps the carbon dioxide, causing the dough to expand and rise.
